Acupressure
Acupressure is an ancient technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points (also called acupoints or pressure points) by the fingers, palm, elbow, or with various devices instead of needles.
The purpose of acupressure is very similar to acupuncture. It can strengthen the flow of Qi, or remove blockages in the meridians, therefore help body regain the balance of Ying Yang and Qi and nurture a natural healing response.
Acupressure therapy can be used to relieve pain, fortify the sexual reproductive system, detoxify the body for greater health and beauty, and treat muscular stiffness.
In our clinic, I like to use acupressure techniques along with traditional acupuncture when I treat these symptoms.
Acupressure is also one of the most common treatments I use for kids and even infants who sometimes cannot tolerate needles. It is very helpful and effective in treating their indigestion problems, asthma, ADD/ADHD, bed-wetting etc.
